Historical People of National Capital Region (NCR)

          José Rizal - José Rizal is considered a national hero in the Philippines. He was born in Calamba, Laguna, which is now part of the National Capital Region (NCR). Rizal was a writer, philosopher, and advocate for Philippine independence during the Spanish colonial period.


          Andres Bonifacio - Andres Bonifacio was a revolutionary leader and founder of the Katipunan, a secret society that fought for Philippine independence from Spain. Bonifacio was born in Tondo, Manila, within the boundaries of present-day NCR.


          Emilio Aguinaldo - Emilio Aguinaldo was the first President of the Philippines and played a crucial role in the country's struggle for independence from Spanish and later American rule. Aguinaldo was born in Kawit, Cavite, which is now part of the NCR.


          Manuel L. Quezon - Manuel L. Quezon was the second President of the Philippines and is known for his efforts to strengthen Philippine autonomy during the American colonial period. Quezon was born in Baler, Tayabas (now Aurora), which is also within the NCR's territory.


          Corazon Aquino - Corazon Aquino served as the 11th President of the Philippines, becoming the country's first female president. Aquino was born in Paniqui, Tarlac, which is now part of the NCR.
